MISAKO YAMAMOTO (She/Her) MACOM, LAC, DIPL OM
Acupuncture and Qigong
Misako was born in Kobe, Japan and raised in the Portland area speaking both English and Japanese. She received Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Japanese from the University of Oregon and her Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (2004).
Misako’s approach to healing is primarily intuitive. Classical Chinese theories of illness state that disease arises from emotional and spiritual imbalances. Based upon these tenets, she seeks to uncover and treat the roots of illness, which can often begin with a stagnation of energy at the deeper spirit level. Misako combines gentle Japanese acupuncture styles, coupled with QiGong, shiatsu massage and Chinese herbal therapies to bring about subtle changes in the body's Qi (energetic life force). This is often enough for the bodies’ innate healing capacity to awaken and continue the healing process.

Misako has been studying/practicing Qigong since 2001. She is a certified Qigong teacher and continues to study with Ling Gui International Healing Qigong School. An avid athlete with a solid foundation in gymnastics, running, rock climbing, and stand up paddling surfing and racing, Misako also understands the physical causes and nature of disease. Her specialties include women’s health as well as spirit & emotion-based illnesses.

Misako is available to offer private and group Qigong classes for individuals and workshops. Email inquiries here.
