Acupuncture refers to the insertion of hair-like thin needles into acupuncture points (acupoints) along specific meridians or pathways in the body. Qi (our vital life force) flows through these pathways providing nourishment to all the systems of the body.

Many factors such as trauma, poor diet, emotional frustration, and external factors (wind & cold) can lead to obstruction or stagnation of Qi in our meridians causing pain and dysfunction. Needles are inserted into acupoints that are chosen according to the theories and principals of Traditional East Asian Medicine to allow Qi to flow freely again. This restores balance, reduces pain and harmonizes yin and yang.

Acupuncture is relatively painless and safe with little to no side effects.  Most people report a relaxed, euphoric sensation during and after treatment. All acupuncture needles are approved by the FDA and are single use, disposable needles typically made of solid surgical stainless steel (others are gold or silver).
